Piccolo Press the prestigious and specialist printing company, based at Nairn in the Scottish Highlands, was visited today by Mr Michael Johnson, the outgoing Chief Executive of the British Printing Industries Federation.
Mr Johnson, on his last visit in post, said it was entirely appropriate that he should end his ten year tour at the top of the printing industry with a visit to Piccolo. “Piccolo is at the zenith of our industry” he said “and it is thrilling to see what this vibrant and important small company, with world-wide clients, is able to do from the Highlands of Scotland. It is a lesson to all; that with good communications, coupled to a fine workforce, one does not need to be located in London, Edinburgh, or a major City. Well done Piccolo.”
Tim Honnor, the MD of Piccolo, thanked Michael Johnson for his kind words. Both Michael and Tim previously served together in the Royal Navy, so were also able to chat about their past maritime lives. However, said Tim, it is a great privilege for us to be visited by Michael, and we put this on a par with our recent success as “Voted Outstanding Wedding Stationer of the Year” and finalist in the UK Print Awards.
Mr Johnson then toured the print workshop and inspected the unique printing presses, many of them over sixty years old. He said that it was just great to be back in a Printshop where time honoured skills were producing the highest quality of printing.
