Tim Honnor, the founder and owner of Piccolo Press is an ardent cricket fan and one who is glued to his radio whenever there is a Test Match. Thus, he was particularly thrilled to be asked to diestamp and print some invitations for the MCC. He thinks that it is the first time that the MCC’s famous interlocking monogram logo has been produced by engraving and diestamping. The job entailed cutting three separate dies, one for the gold, one for the red and one to tie in the whole with an outline black. Not only did the dies require great skill in the engraving, but the registration of each colour and hand feeding of each card four times to produce the image, was a major challenge!
